Ultra Guard Waterbased Polyurethane is our high-performance protective top coat designed for interior surfaces that need extra durability without compromising the look of your finish.

Its water-based, non-yellowing formula is reinforced with silica for increased abrasion resistance, making it an excellent choice for furniture, tabletops, work surfaces, wood floors, and other high-use areas.

Available in Flat or Satin, Ultra Guard dries clear and beautifully enhances both light and dark colours without the cloudiness or streaking that can sometimes occur with other top coats.

HOW TO APPLY

Over Painted Surfaces
Make sure the surface is clean and free from grease, wax, and contaminants. If needed, clean with TSP Alternative before painting. Allow your painted surface to dry for approximately 24–48 hours before applying Ultra Guard.

Apply 2 coats for excellent protection.

Over Bare Wood
Sand bare wood smooth with approximately 120-grit sandpaper, remove all sanding dust, and make sure the surface is free from wax, oils, and other contaminants.

Apply 3 coats for optimal protection.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Mix Ultra Guard thoroughly with a stir stick, then allow it to sit for approximately 20 minutes before application.

Apply with a quality synthetic brush or microfiber roller in smooth, even coats.

For the smoothest possible finish, lightly sand with 220-grit sandpaper between coats when required, making sure to remove all sanding dust before recoating.

DRY & RECOAT TIMES

Allow approximately 3–48 hours between coats.

If more than 48 hours has passed, lightly sand with 220-grit sandpaper before applying the next coat.

On bare wood, the second coat may be applied after approximately 3 hours without sanding. If sanding between coats, allow approximately 6–8 hours before sanding.

Allow 7–10 days for full cure before subjecting the surface to heavy use.

COVERAGE

One container covers approximately 65 sq. ft. / 6 m², depending on the surface and application method.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Once fully cured, clean Ultra Guard surfaces with mild soap and warm water. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners that may prematurely wear the finish.

GOOD TO KNOW

Ultra Guard applies with a slightly milky appearance but dries completely clear, enhancing the richness of your painted or natural wood surface.

It can be painted over once fully cured. After approximately 10 days, clean the surface, lightly scuff sand, and test adhesion before completing the full project.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT ALLOW ULTRA GUARD TO FREEZE. Store appropriately during colder months.
