Alchemy by Fusion Furniture Wax goes on like butter, leaving a soft lustre on your piece. Soft, smooth and easy to apply, it seals and protects painted and raw wood — virtually odourless, with no harsh chemicals. It is the finishing step made for Alchemy by Fusion: a blend of acrylic, limestone and chalk that brings you those sought-after chalk-like qualities combined with Fusion's durability.

Clear — seals and protects while leaving your colour exactly as painted, in a soft, low-sheen finish. Available in 50g and 200g.
Antiquing — settles into brush strokes, recesses and mouldings to add aged, timeworn depth. 50g.
White — a soft whitewashed, limed effect that lifts carved detail and lightens deeper colours. 50g.

As we have believed from the beginning that paint is soothing for the soul, we believe our finishing products can be too. Our museum-quality wax is based on a 35-year-old family recipe, produced by one of the oldest family run furniture wax makers in Canada. It goes on like butter, provides a durable finish, and takes about 30 days to fully cure - treat your piece gently within that time.

How to clean or remove wax from your brushes and surfaces.

To effectively clean wax or Hemp Oil, even SFO residue, from your brushes or surfaces, we recommend using our Odourless Solvent or Mineral Spirits. This solvent is designed to break down the wax/oil-based product, making it easier to remove.

For brushes, after soaking in the Odourless solvent to break down the wax / oil-based product, wash thoroughly with Fusions Brush Soap.

For heavily waxed furniture pieces, employ steel wool or a scouring pad, which, along with the Odourless solvent, can assist in eliminating the residue.

Check out our instructional video on removing wax from your brush; the same steps apply for removing Hemp Oil residue.
This informational video shows you how to load your wax brush and apply it to your surface.

DIRECTIONS

HOW TO USE IT

Apply a thin layer with a clean cotton cloth or wax brush, working it into recesses and surface imperfections. Wipe away the excess, let it set for a few minutes, then buff with a clean lint-free cloth to your desired sheen. Add more layers to build more sheen.

COVERAGE

A little goes a long way. Even a small container covers quite far, as you only need a very thin layer to achieve excellent results.

WHAT IT WILL LOOK LIKE

Clear goes on clear. After removing the excess and letting it harden for 5-10 minutes you can leave it for a matte sheen or buff to a soft lustre - the choice is yours.

Antiquing adds instant age and depth. Work a small amount into ridges, recesses and brush strokes and let the wax do its thing.

White gives the pickled, whitewashed or cerused look, lifting carved detail and softening deeper colours.

CURE TIME

All waxes take about 30 days to cure. Gently use your pieces within that time.

WHAT ELSE CAN IT BE USED FOR?

These waxes are very versatile, from furniture restoration to art work and more. They can be used on concrete, cast iron and other materials to richen their look, and like our Beeswax Block, wax can also be used as a resist between coats of paint.

BENEFITS

Our museum-quality wax is based on a 35-year-old family recipe. It seals and protects painted and raw wood, is soft, smooth and easy to apply, and buffs to whatever sheen you want. Virtually odourless with no harsh chemicals. Three finishes - Clear to seal, Antiquing for aged depth, White for a soft limed effect. Made in Canada.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between this wax and other brands?

Alchemy Furniture Wax is based on an old family recipe for museum quality wax. It is safer to use than many other brands on the market, as it does not contain volatile and smelly solvents. It is very easy to use and does not require a lot of elbow grease to buff to a shine.

How do I buff my wax to a shine?

It's so easy! Once your wax is brushed or wiped on, use a nice soft and plush applicator to buff. We like to use a rag bunched up into a soft pillow or one of our applicator pads. Buff with light pressure in small circles until you're happy with the results. Usually the wax will get very smooth and slippery once it's buffed.

How do I use this wax for accenting?

Simply brush or wipe onto the areas you want accented. For detailed areas, we recommend a brush to get into the crevices. Then wipe away the excess wax until you are happy with the results.

How do I remove the wax when I put too much on?

There are a few different methods you can use. First, you can wipe off the wax right away and usually get most of it off. If it has been sitting for a little while, you can use mineral spirits to completely remove it. If you want to reduce the colour but still want some of the wax left behind, you can apply some Clear wax as an eraser and remove both the clear and coloured with a lint free rag.

Can I use this over Alchemy by Fusion or Fusion Mineral Paint?

Yes you can! It is a great way to accent details or to add a bit of sheen. You cannot paint over the wax afterwards - it must first be removed with mineral spirits.
