We wanted to showcase this Pine Blanket Chest Gets a Boho Makeover. For this makeover, we chose to refinish it in the colour Wisteria Row. A very soft lavender perfect to add style to this plain chest.
Here’s what you’re going to need for this project:
- Milk Paint by Fusion “Wisteria Row“
- Fusion Ultra Grip
- Fusion TSP Alternative
- Fusion Clear Wax
- Fusion White Wax
- Round paint brush
- Sanding block
Step 1 – Prep
To prep our chest for the paint, we cleaned the entire chest with Fusion TSP Alternative which we diluted with water.
After drying, we scuff-sanded all over with a sanding block and wiped it clean.
Step 2 – Mixing
We mixed up our milk paint and let it rest for about 10 minutes. We then added Fusion Ultra Grip as we like a sleek finish with no chipping.
Step 3 – Paint it Beautiful
We applied two coats of Wisteria Row paint and boy does it look good!
Step 4 – Finishing
After drying, we lightly sanded over the dried paint to smooth out any bumps and to achieve a soft butter finish.
We then sealed our chest with Fusion Clear Wax. We also strategically went over certain details with Fusion White Wax for a very subtle look.
