HOW TO CREATE A CONCRETE LOOK

First, prep your surface by adding a coat of Fusion Ultra Grip.

This will help the paint adhere better and ensure that your finished product is durable. Once the Ultra Grip has had enough time to dry (typically 12 hours), you can begin the painting process.

Second, Apply a Base Layer of Ash in Fusion Mineral Paint

Start by applying a base layer of ash in Fusion mineral paint. This will give your piece depth and make the faux concrete finish more realistic. While the base coat is drying (which should take about 30 minutes), mix up some Gotham Grey Milk Paint and apply it in a crosshatch motion all over the surface. This will add texture and depth to your finish.

Once the Gotham Grey layer is dry, it’s time to add some highlights. Mix up some Hotel Robe (a bright white) and Little Black Dress (a jet black) and spatter them onto the surface using a brush. Then, take a plastic bag and gently jab the surface to blend the paint together. The result should be a beautiful, marbled finish that gives it a real concrete look.

Third, complete the concrete look and add a soft sheen

Apply Pearl Wax to the surface and buff it to a shine. Your faux concrete look is now complete!
