Natural Protection for Wood & Milk Painted Surfaces

Homestead House Salad Bowl Finish is a food-safe, biodegradable beeswax finish designed to protect and enhance bare wood, Milk Paint, and other porous surfaces.

Use it on salad bowls, cutting boards, wooden utensils, fine furniture, and Milk Painted pieces for a smooth, hand-rubbed finish with a soft, natural sheen.

It can also be applied over surfaces previously treated with Hemp Oil to add extra sheen and protection.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT

  • Food-safe
  • Biodegradable
  • Beautiful on bare wood and Milk Paint
  • Adds a soft, natural sheen
  • Can be applied over Hemp Oil
  • Helps seal porous, chalky finishes
  • Will not yellow white Milk Paint colours
  • Can also be used as a resist to create distressed, crackled, or chippy Milk Paint effects
  • Easy to refresh as needed

HOW TO USE

Apply a thin layer with a brush or lint-free cotton cloth.

Allow the finish to sit for a few minutes, then buff the surface with a clean cloth to reveal a smooth, natural sheen.

For very dry or thirsty wood, apply Hemp Oil first to nourish and condition the surface, then follow with Salad Bowl Finish for added protection and sheen.

CARING FOR YOUR FINISH

Reapply as needed depending on how frequently the item is used.

High-use surfaces, such as cutting boards or wooden utensils, may benefit from refreshing every month or two, while decorative or low-use pieces may only need a new application every year or two.
