Dolphin Fine Flexible Sanding Sponges are ideal for more abrasive sanding tasks, offering a thicker, firmer grip for added control and pressure.

These sponges are perfect for removing finishes, smoothing rough surfaces, or creating a distressed look. Available in both rectangular and angled shapes, they make it easy to tackle flat areas as well as detailed grooves and profiles.

Note: These are more abrasive than sanding pads and will feel scratchier. For light scuff sanding, we recommend using our sanding pads instead.

What’s the difference between sanding sponges and sanding pads?
Sanding sponges are more abrasive and “scratchier,” making them ideal for removing finishes or distressing. Sanding pads are smoother and better for light prep and between coats.

When should I use a sanding sponge?
Use sanding sponges when you need more aggressive sanding, such as removing old finishes or creating a distressed look.

Which shape should I choose?

Yes, but for light scuff sanding before applying Fusion Mineral Paint, sanding pads are typically the better choice.
