We’re all working from home more often these days, so trying to find the right sanctuary for productivity can be difficult. Lucky enough I had a tiny small spare bedroom that wasn’t needed, so it was the perfect room to transform into a home office. Join me as I transform this full space into a vibrant and inspiring work space. I created a focal wall with a custom mix of Fusion Mineral Paint. Made a backdrop for my Zoom meetings, changed the lighting added some storage and even a pinboard, all on a budget.

Before I decorated the office it did have potential … an interesting shape and lots of light. But nothing about the bland walls energized me. Not my idea of a creative workspace.
Colour First, it sets the stage so beautifully
If you have been following my Townhouse Blogs, you won’t be surprised that I was crazy about all the delicious shades of pink for my new home and carried the theme throughout most of the rooms. For my office, I wanted a similar vibe — contemporary, pretty, and peaceful. But also a splash of positive energy. I painted the feature wall in a rich shade of pink that I customed mixed using Fusion’s Damask and Cashmere. Now I was excited.
The office radiates warmth and energy with just a luscious pink feature wall. Two pints of paint, totalling $50, covered the space perfectly, staying right on budget.
Create A Happy Home Office
Creating a happy home office requires considering your work habits. This oddly shaped room, with two adjoining rectangles, sparked my imagination. Opting for two desks, one with an adjustable height, allowed me to spread out my work efficiently. The other or meetings. The white oak wood connected with other furniture in the living and dining areas.
Two strategically placed carpets defined the spaces and added texture to the wood floor. A simple diamond pattern provided neutral colour and visual interest without overwhelming the room. Matching area rugs anchored the desks, and a corkboard mood board served as a practical solution for notes and photos without damaging the walls.

Shelves and Storage that work for you.
Efficient shelving and storage are crucial for a busy office. The rental came with built-in cabinets below the desk area, keeping the office neat. Floating shelves above added decorative touches related to my work or simply enhanced the aesthetics. Make the space your own with these personal touches.
A stylish, 3-tiered, open-shelf unit against the feature wall offered additional storage and a contemporary visual appeal. The wood and black lines created a pleasing contrast with the pink wall, providing a perfect spot for artwork and easy-care plants.
